Courage and strength
2 Timothy 1:7
"For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline."— 2 Timothy 1:7, NIV
Reflection
If timidity is your default, this verse says the timidity isn't from God. He doesn't issue fear; he issues power, love, and self-discipline — three things fear specifically erodes. The combination matters. Power without love becomes domination. Love without self-discipline becomes sentimentality. Self-discipline without power becomes brittle legalism. The Spirit gives all three together, and they balance each other. When you're feeling cowardly today, ask which of the three you're missing — the missing one is usually where the fear is leaking in.
Prayer
Spirit, where I am timid, give me your power. Where I am harsh, give me your love. Where I am undisciplined, give me self-control.
