Peace that surpasses
Psalm 46:10
"He says, 'Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.'"— Psalm 46:10, NIV
Reflection
Stillness is the most counter-cultural act available to us. The whole psalm before this verse describes nations in uproar, mountains falling into the sea, kingdoms shaking. It's chaos. And in the middle of the chaos, God says: be still. Not because the chaos isn't real — but because the chaos isn't ultimate. He is. The stillness is not denial; it's a refusal to let the noise be the loudest voice in your head. Five minutes a day of intentional silence is one of the most radical things a Christian can do in 2026.
Prayer
God, I am still. I know that you are God. Quiet me where I'm anxious.
