Trust in the Lord
Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."— Proverbs 3:5-6, NIV
Reflection
The 'lean not on your own understanding' is the hard part. Most of the time, our understanding feels reliable — we have data, experience, instincts. The verse isn't saying our understanding is wrong; it's saying it's not the load-bearing wall. That goes to God. The straight paths don't mean easy paths or short paths. They mean true paths — the ones that get you where you actually need to go, not where you'd choose if you were in charge. Trust looks like obedience before clarity.
Prayer
Lord, I want to lean on what I understand. Help me lean on you instead. Make today's path straight, even if it isn't easy.
